Prince of Peace Lutheran College is a K-12 co-educational, independent, Christian school located at Everton Hills in the north-western suburbs of Brisbane.  The College was established by the Prince of Peace Lutheran Congregation in 1984 to provide quality Christian education to the children of the community.

Prince of Peace Lutheran College offers classes on two sites from Kindergarten to Year 12 with approximately 815 students enrolled.  The Junior Campus (K-6) is located at Rogers Parade West, Everton Park.  The Middle & Senior Campus, 1 km away at Henderson Road, Everton Hills was opened in July 2009 and is currently home to Years 7-12.

Deputy Head of Campus – Junior

The College is seeking a dynamic, contemporary and innovative leader with strong Christian values. Working alongside the Head of Campus-Junior, this is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our students, ln line with the Mission & Vision of the College.

 

This full-time, 5 year contract, with generous working conditions, is available for commencement in January 2022.

Working closely alongside the Head of Campus-Junior, the Deputy Head of Campus is a dynamic and contemporary leader who initiates effective student wellbeing and fosters an innovative and future focused student-centred learning environment. They have strong experience and understanding in Junior Years pedagogies, helping lead the delivery of a high quality Christian education in the Lutheran tradition. In doing so, they encourage all in the community to learn, care and achieve, to bring glory to God and serve the world in love.

The Deputy Head of Campus-Junior is a highly organised and collaborative member of the College Executive Team, who are responsible for leading the College community to develop a culture of welcome and inclusivity, a culture where learning is innovative in a contemporary and authentic context and where students are valued.

2022 Middle & Secondary Teaching Positions
(Applications Close 4 October 2021)

In 2022, the College have a range of part time/full time, fixed term teaching opportunities across a number of subject combinations, as follows: 

  • Design Technology 
  • Mathematics 
  • English (Middle School) 
  • Humanities (Middle School) 
  • Accounting / Business Studies

A combination of these subjects, with an additional teaching area will be highly regarded

Please clearly indicate in the application, your qualified teaching areas and preferred combination

  • Based on applications and interviews, loads will be negotiated with the successful applicants to find the right combination for the College.
  • The College is offering contract positions, however depending on the combinations of applications received, there may be an opportunity for a permanency as part of this process.
  • The commencement date for all positions is Thursday 13 January 2022.
  • Applications are invited from suitably qualified and committed professionals who are innovative, dedicated, willing to support the Christian ethos of the College, and develop as an educator in a team environment.

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

SELECTION CRITERIA

Demonstrated skills which reflect commitment to, and understanding of, the Christian ethos of the College and how it influences Pastoral Care (this may include):

  • Demonstrated ability to lead children in Christian worship
  • Willingness to contribute to the maintenance of the Christian based caring atmosphere of the College
  • Ability to maintain a positive focused, well-managed teaching environment with a high standard of pastoral care using Restorative Practices

Demonstrated ability to deliver a high quality teaching and learning programs (this may include):

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Queensland Curriculum and Syllabus documents
  • Ability to plan effective documented programs which include weekly plans and term overviews
  • Ability to select and use appropriately, a wide range of teaching and assessment strategies to suit the needs of a diverse range of students
  • Ability to integrate ICTs as cross curricular priorities in the curriculum

Demonstrated commitment and capacity to actively contribute to a broad range of school activities as a member of the College team.

  • Demonstrate a willingness to contribute to, and evolve the extra-curricular life of an expanding College
