Meet our Incoming Head of College

Dr Susan Carter

We are excited to announce the appointment of our new Head of College from 2025, Dr Susan Carter: an educational practitioner and leader, academic and experienced Principal.

With a career spanning over 25 years as an educator, leader and mentor, Susan has held several key roles in the education sector including being appointed as a Principal of a Prep – Year 10 school, a Principal of a large rural school, a teaching Principal, a Deputy Principal and most recently, as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Southern Queensland.

Susan has a strong belief in the power of community to work through challenges, the importance of engaging parents in the educational journey to improve student outcomes and the positive impact nurturing, inclusive and supportive learning and teaching environments can have on educational outcomes and student and teacher well-being.

Meet our Current Head of College

Mr Simon Hughes

Simon brings rich experience to leading curriculum and pastoral care within his role as Head of College.

Simon joined Prince of Peace in 2020 from Good News Lutheran College in Melbourne, where he was Principal for 8 years and oversaw the growth of the College from a Primary School through to a large P-12 College, along with the introduction of several international programs. Simon is father of three primary school aged children.
