At Prince of Peace Lutheran Kindergarten, we celebrate every child’s unique learning journey within a warm, nurturing, and inspiring environment. Our play-based program is guided by the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, fostering learning through exploration, imagination, and meaningful experiences.
Children engage in both planned and spontaneous activities that support their holistic development—social, emotional, physical, and cognitive. These experiences nurture creativity, problem-solving, independence, and help children reach important developmental milestones.
Our experienced and caring team provides consistency and genuine connection, building strong, positive relationships with each child and their family. We value open communication and collaborate closely with families to set shared learning goals, especially as children move through key transitions in their early years.
The Benefits of Being Part of the College Community
As a Kindergarten located within Prince of Peace Lutheran College, our children benefit from being a valued part of a wider learning community. These unique advantages include:
Using College Facilities: Our children enjoy access to a range of age-appropriate College facilities and spaces, enhancing their learning experiences.
Library Visits: Regular visits to the College library foster a love of books and support early literacy, with children able to borrow books to take home.
Smooth Transition to Prep: As familiar members of the College community, our Kindergarten children transition confidently and smoothly into Prep, already comfortable with the school environment and routines.
We are also proud to engage in College events throughout the year, such as Mother’s Day and Father’s Day celebrations, Book Week, and more, deepening the sense of community and connection for children and families alike.
Preparing for Prep
A strong focus of our curriculum is preparation for Prep. We help children build the confidence and capabilities needed for a positive start to formal schooling, including:
Independence with self-help tasks (e.g. toileting, dressing, managing belongings)
Confidence to express their needs, ideas, and feelings
Ability to follow instructions and daily routines
Early literacy and numeracy awareness through purposeful play
Social skills such as turn-taking, cooperation, and emotional regulation
Our goal is for every child to feel confident, capable, and excited about the next step in their learning journey. With strong relationships, supportive guidance, and a learning environment rich in play and discovery, every child can thrive—and we are honoured to walk alongside them.
Sending our kids to Prince of Peace was the best parenting and family decision we have ever and will ever make. — Mrs M
Enrolments
Enrolment at Prince of Peace Lutheran Kindergarten is separate from enrolment at Prince of Peace Lutheran College. To express your interest in enrolling, please:
We warmly encourage families to contact us and arrange a visit before or during the enrolment process. This provides a valuable opportunity to see our learning environment, meet our team, and ask any questions you may have.
If you are seeking enrolment into both the Kindergarten and Prep, please ensure you apply for both at the same time. This helps ensure your child is registered with both the Kindergarten and the College. Please note: Enrolment in the Kindergarten does not guarantee a place in Prep.
For more information about enrolling in Prep, please click here or contact: Donna Cook, College Marketing and Enrolments Manager, on 07 3872 5710.
